MISD Superintendent Exceeds Composite Evaluation

MISD Board of Education Members with Coy Samons, MISD Superintendent

December 12, 2019, the Murray Independent Board of Education completed the annual evaluation for Superintendent Coy Samons. The areas evaluated include the following:  Relationship with the Board, Community Relationships, Staff and Personnel Relationships, Educational Leadership, Business and Financial Leadership, Personal Qualities and Planning.  A point scale of  1 – 5 was used and interpreted as follows: 1 (Perform Unsatisfactorily), 2 (Needs Improvement in Performance), 3 (Meets Performance Expectations), 4 (Exceeds Performance Expectations) and 5 (Not Observed).

The annual evaluation is a composite from the evaluations completed by each of the five board members: Richard H. Crouch, MD (Chairman), Jason Howell (Vice-Chair), Shawn Smee, Dr. Miranda Terry, and Gina Winchester.

 Chairman Crouch stated; “Mr. Samons exceeds in all the qualities it takes to be a successful leader and sets the example personally for pride, tradition, and excellence that make the Murray Independent School District one of the best in the state. Great job recognizing his faculty and staff for their hard work and contributions.”

Superintendent Samons thanked the Board for their support and positive remarks.
