MISD Superintendent Announces MISD Will Follow Recommendations from KY Gov and Continue NTI Until May 1

MISD Continues NTI Until May 1

Message from Coy Samons-MISD Superintendent

Today (04/02/20), superintendents of KY public school districts completed a statewide conference call with Governor Andy Beshear and KDE Commissioner Kevin Brown. Due to recommendations from federal and state agencies regarding COVID-19, the following will occur:

 

1.      The Murray Independent School District will be closed to students through Friday, May 01, 2020. This is an attempt to slow or stop the spread of COVID-19 throughout the Commonwealth.

2.      Non-Traditional Instruction for students will continue through May 01, 2020.

3.    Food Service will continue (more information to follow on change to distribution methods).

4.      Certified and classified employees will continue to follow recently implemented procedures and guidelines for working at home or on campus.

5.      Personal, sick, vacation/non-contract leave policies are still in effect.

6.      All extracurricular activities/athletics (including practice) will be paused through May 01, 2020.

7.      Spring Break will continue as scheduled (April 06-10).

8.      Continue to practice social distancing and CDC guidelines for COVID-19 prevention.When available, more information will be made available to MISD stakeholders.
