MISD Volunteer Program Phase-In Approach

Phase-In Murray Independent School District Volunteer Program

Sherry Purdom, Murray Independent School District Volunteer director announced the MISD Volunteer Program will begin a phased-in approach to assist with extracurricular activities and athletics at this time.

The MISD on-campus volunteer program for volunteers who assist inside the MISD classrooms is still limited and will begin at a later date.

To be an approved MISD volunteer all volunteers must have an approved state background check on file, a completed application, and attend a confidentiality training.  (Training is offered on line, with an on-line quiz to be completed after viewing the training.).  The on-line process is as follows:

Please review and complete the on-line training tabs (located on left-hand side of page):https://bit.ly/2FzVHdm

a.        Introduction to Volunteer Program

b.       Volunteer Orientation

c.        Volunteer Confidentiality Training Quiz

d.       Volunteer Application

After each task is completed, please submit your volunteer application and training quiz to sherry.purdom@murray.kyschools.us.

Note:  Each approved MISD volunteer is required to have a current state background check on file.  Background checks are good for five years.  A master list is available to check for current and expired background checks.  Once your information has been submitted, if your background check is current you will be added to the approved list.  However, if your background check is expired, a $10 fee will be charged and the background check will be resubmitted to the state for approval.  (Background checks are good for five years).

Please note the $10 may be dropped off at the MISD Central Office, 208 S.13th Street.  All checks should be made payable to:  Murray Independent School District.
