MHS Band Director Recognized by MSU Alumni Association Top 22 UNDER FORTY

MHS Band Director Named to 22 and UNDER FORTY MSU

Congratulations to Tim Zeiss, Murray High School Band Director, being named among the Murray State University Alumni Association Top 22 UNDER FORTY Class of 2022. The Murray Independent School District Tiger family congratulates Tim Zeiss on this esteemed recognition.

Tim Zeiss graduated from Murray State with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2008 and a master's in Educational Theory in 2010. Zeiss served as the Director of Bands at South Side High School in Jackson, TN from 2008 to 2010, and has since served as the Director of Bands at Murray High School in Murray, KY. During his tenure at Murray High he has received the First District Kentucky High School Music Educator of the Year award in 2018 and the McDonald's Teach It Forward Outstanding Educator award in 2020. Zeiss led the Murray High Tiger Marching Band to KMEA State Marching Band Championships in 2017, 2018 and 2021, as well as the 2021 Bands of America Grand National Championship and National Semi-Finals.

Zeiss continues to support his alma mater by supervising many inspiring future music educators from Murray State through practicum or student teaching placements.
