MHS 2022 Kentucky Governor Scholar's Program Recipients Announced

2022 MHS Governor Scholar Program Recipients

The Murray High School Guidance Office has announced the 2022 Murray High School (MHS)  Kentucky Governor's Scholar Program (GSP) Recipients:  (from left):  Raegan Settle, Alyssa Daughrity, Maggie Drew, Hannah McKibben, Jenna Turley, Margaret Robinson, and Ella Bryant (Alternate). These MHS GSP 2022 recipients were selected by the GSP Statewide Selection Committee from a competitive pool of approximately 2,000 applicants, with approximately 1,020 students selected to attend.

This year's Governor Scholars will meet at one of three Kentucky universities this summer for the five-week program at one of the following sites:  Centre College in Danville, Morehead State University in Morehead, or Bellarmine University in Louisville.  Students will receive a packet of detailed information from the Governor's Scholars Program, and in late May, students will be notified of their respective campus and focus area assignments.

Governor Scholars are selected from across Kentucky and represent the diversity of the Commonwealth .The program is singularly free from competition, creating an environment that is conducive to building a community of friends and colleagues. The program offers Scholars a chance to know and make friends with other enthusiastic, energetic students with high intellectual capacities. The give-and-take among Scholars from different backgrounds is one of the most treasured aspects of the program.
