We know that missing assignments can happen—especially after multiple absences or when students simply get a little behind. That’s why Murray Middle offers students dedicated time on Thursdays from 3:00–4:00 PM to stay after school, get some extra support, and CATCH UP!
Building good habits now matters! Learning to keep up with assignments, stay organized, ask for help, and take responsibility for schoolwork helps students become more confident and successful as they move through middle school and beyond. 💛🖤
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Students should NOT plan to stay on Thursday without prior communication. Families must communicate with the appropriate teacher and receive confirmation before allowing a student to stay.
We want our Tigers to stay on track—and we’re here to help them do it! 🐯💛 We care about our Tigers’ success!

Our MHS Tiger Football Team is heading to STATE, and we’re celebrating with a District Wide Spirit Week starting TOMORROW! 🐯🏈🎉
We’re also sharing important details about a Community Pep Rally and an update to our Jr. Dawg Pound schedule. Because of the district pep rally and a home boys’ basketball game this Thursday, we’re shifting our next Jr. Dawg Pound to Monday, December 8, for the 7th/8th Grade Boys vs. Graves County game at 5:30 PM.

Our 2024–2025 State Assessment Results Are In!
We are excited to share some of the many highlights from this year’s accountability data and celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our middle school students and staff:
-Grades 4 & 5 increased their combined Reading & Math scores from last year
-Grades 4 & 5 earned Blue status in Reading and Math
-Grades 4 & 5 improved their Quality of School Climate Survey results from the previous year
-4th Grade Science earned the 4th highest district score in the state
-7th Grade Science earned the 3rd highest district score in the state
-8th Grade Writing had over 80% of students score Proficient and Distinguished
-6th Grade Reading had ZERO Novice students with over 80% Proficient and Distinguished
-Grades 6–8 achieved a triple increase in Reading & Math, combined Science, Social Studies & Writing, and Quality of School Climate Survey
-Grades 6–8 achieved the 3rd highest overall score in the state
We could not be more proud of our students, teachers, and staff. Their hard work shows, and our school community continues to shine.

Our Murray Middle School Student Council Food Drive kicks off TODAY and runs through next Friday, and we want to make this our biggest food drive yet!
Each grade level at Murray Middle has a special “Meal Mission” theme to help us collect a wide variety of foods for local families. All donations will go directly to Need Line to support our community.
While students are working hard to fill their grade-level carts at school, we’re inviting our entire community to join in! Anyone can contribute to any grade level’s “Meal Mission.” Donations can be dropped off at the MMS front office during school hours.
Let’s come together as a community and fill every cart to the top. Together, we can make a huge impact for families right here in Murray!

4th Grade – Breakfast Bonanza: pancake mix, syrup, cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars, box milk
5th Grade – Lunchtime Legends: soups, mac & cheese, peanut butter, crackers, fruit cups, granola bars
6th Grade – Taco Tuesday: shells, beans, rice, canned meat, salsa
7th Grade – Pasta Party: spaghetti, sauce, canned vegetables, bread/biscuit mix
8th Grade – Family Feast: mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, canned vegetables, cornbread mix
