Jarrod Coulson, who conducts research at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, recently visited Mackenzie Cadagin’s Murray Elementary School kindergarten class and shared his career with students.
The Los Alamos National Laboratory was created during World War II to develop the first atomic bombs, but today it focuses on national security, science, and technology. Scientists in the laboratory work on things including energy, medicine, the environment, and keeping the U.S. nuclear stockpile safe without testing.
Students participated in a contamination experiment and learned about scientists and were able to dress like one.
