Last Thursday, May 14, the Class of 2026 took their final walk through the halls of Murray Elementary School, Murray Middle School, and Murray High School. Along the way, seniors presented teachers, counselors, administrators, and staff with honorary diplomas accompanied by personal notes of gratitude and appreciation.
As always, this meaningful tradition was filled with heartfelt tributes, reflection, and dedication.

On Thursday, May 14, Murray High School gathered in Taylor Gymnasium to honor the incredible accomplishments of the Class of 2026 during Honors and Awards Night.
Throughout the evening, more than six million dollars in scholarships and awards were presented to our seniors — a reflection of the hard work, dedication, leadership, and perseverance of this outstanding class. The evening also included the announcement of the Most Outstanding Male and Female, along with recognition of our valedictorians and salutatorian.
The pride and respect we have for these students and all they have accomplished during their time at Murray High School is truly immense. Their commitment to excellence has left a lasting mark on our school, and we cannot wait to see the impact they will make in the future.
Throughout the evening, more than six million dollars in scholarships and awards were presented to our seniors — a reflection of the hard work, dedication, leadership, and perseverance of this outstanding class. The evening also included the announcement of the Most Outstanding Male and Female, along with recognition of our valedictorians and salutatorian.

Last week, our seniors kicked off a season filled with treasured traditions and meaningful moments. The first ceremony honoring the Class of 2026 was the Baccalaureate Ceremony — a moving event thoughtfully organized, planned, and led by students.
The evening included heartfelt messages to our seniors, special music, prayer, and concluded with one of the most meaningful traditions of all: seniors presenting a flower to someone who has made a lasting impact on their lives. The message for the evening was delivered by our very own Mike Chipman, whose words challenged, encouraged, and inspired our seniors as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives.
It was a beautiful ceremony centered on grace, gratitude, love, and prayer — a reminder of the many people who have walked alongside our seniors on their journey to graduation.

Please review the attached map and directions carefully for graduate drop-off, parking, entry doors, and ADA seating information. Graduates should be dropped off at the corner of Payne Street and N 14th Street no later than 1:20 PM.
Our Murray High Student Ambassadors will be stationed throughout Old Racer Arena to assist families and guests with seating, directions, and locating where graduates are seated on the arena floor to help families choose the best seating area. Ambassadors can easily be identified by their white t-shirts.
Doors open for families at 1:00 PM, and seating is first come, first served. We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2026 with you! 🖤💛

Murray High School senior Brandon Daughaday has been awarded the prestigious Presidential Fellowship at Murray State University—covering full tuition, housing, and meals for up to four years! 🎓✨
This highly competitive scholarship includes a rigorous application and interview process and is awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and service. As a Presidential Fellow, Brandon will engage in advanced research, leadership opportunities, and global learning experiences through the Honors College.

In their first-ever appearance at the NAQT Small School National Championship in Chicago, our Tigers placed 21st out of 88 teams nationwide—an incredible showing on the national stage! 🇺🇸📚
The team went 7–3 in preliminary rounds, earning a spot in the playoffs and delivering a HUGE statement win—425–145 over a previously undefeated, 13th-ranked team (their only loss of the day 💥). Even better? That was MHS’s highest score of the entire tournament!
Captain Selvam Antony placed 33rd out of 515 individual players, and our entire varsity team finished in the top 40% of the competition. Talk about representing! 🐯👏
Coach Wesley Bolin shared, “It is a delight as teachers and coaches to witness your students performing at the highest level in perfect sync.”
A big THANK YOU to the MISD Foundation for Excellence and Board Member Robyn Pizzo for making this trip possible, and to Jeremy Krug for supporting the team throughout the championship.
