🐯🩺 Future Healthcare Heroes Get a Visit from a Murray High Alum!

Murray High School welcomed back Anna Chipman, a 2023 MHS graduate, to speak with students in the Principles of Biomedical Science (PLTW) class about her journey into nursing.

Chipman shared her experiences in the nursing program at West Kentucky Community & Technical College (WKCTC), giving students a firsthand look at what nursing school is really like. She talked about her classes, clinicals, internships, and the opportunities available in the nursing field, while also answering questions from students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare.

Anna will graduate in May as a Registered Nurse (RN) and has already accepted a position in the field — an exciting milestone she shared with students as they begin thinking about their own futures.

“With many students interested in the medical field and nursing, this was a great opportunity to hear from someone so close to their age who is experiencing it right now and close to home,” said MHS science teacher Marlee Morehead.

Anna is the daughter of Emily and Michael Chipman of Murray.

🐯 Future Tigers Visit Murray High! 🐯

Today, current Murray Middle School 8th graders — our future Murray High Tigers — visited Murray High School and the Murray/Calloway County Area Technology Center to get their first look at all the opportunities waiting for them.

Students were guided by MHS Student Ambassadors, pathway and club leaders, and Murray High staff, giving them a chance to explore what life at Murray High is all about.

Throughout the day, students were able to:
✔️ Walk the halls of Murray High School
✔️ Walk the halls of the Murray/Calloway County Area Technology Center and see the amazing opportunities available there
✔️ Participate in hands-on activities
✔️ Ask questions of current students, staff, and administrators
✔️ Learn about the pathways and courses available to them as freshmen

This experience is designed to help students begin thinking about the exciting journey ahead at Murray High.

Tonight, parents and families will have the opportunity to tour both campuses and see everything students experienced today. Local community members will also be present to share about their careers and how high school coursework can help prepare students for the future.

At Murray High, we want every student to remember:

✨ Your Path. Your Passion. Your Place. ✨

👊🐯 The History of the Fist Bump

For more than 10 years, Mr. Jarvis has been greeting students on Fridays with a simple fist bump. What started as a small gesture has become a tradition that students remember long after they graduate. Many previous students still share that it’s something they haven't forgotten.

It’s a simple way to send a message of care, encouragement, and positivity—and who can say no to that? Everyone can use a fist bump.

So find someone to fist bump today, share a smile, and spread a little joy. It certainly won’t hurt anyone!

Have a great weekend, Tigers! 🐯👊
