MURRAY HIGH SPEECH TEAM WINS AT NATIONAL QUALIFIER
This weekend, Faith McCafferty competed against students from across the Commonwealth of Kentucky and qualified for the 2026 National Speech and Debate Tournament in Dramatic Interpretation. McCafferty, a sophomore, is a member of the Murray High Speech Team and will represent Kentucky in the 101st national contest that will be held in Richmond, Virginia June 13-20. This weekend’s competition was held at the NSDA National Qualifier on the campus of Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. The Murray High Speech Team is coached by Michael Robinson and assistant coach Jennifer McCafferty.

Murray High School students recently traveled to Washington, D.C. as part of the Leadership Tomorrow program—an unforgettable experience filled with history, learning, and lasting memories!
From touring the Capitol and Smithsonian museums to exploring iconic monuments, this trip brought classroom learning to life in an incredible way.
💬 MHS Senior Tanner Morgan shared:
“I really enjoyed visiting Washington, DC with Leadership Tomorrow. It was a great experience getting to see all the historic places and museums. My favorite things we did were touring the Capitol building, visiting the Smithsonian, and the Museum on O Street.”

Murray High School art students were recognized for their outstanding work at the 42nd Annual Kentucky Art Education Association Pennyrile/Purchase Regional Art Exhibition, hosted by the Murray State University Fine Arts Department.
With 380 entries and an acceptance rate of just 42%, the juried exhibition was highly competitive—making it a tremendous honor for Murray High students to have their artwork selected for the show.

This year marked an exciting milestone for Murray High School’s Educators Rising club! In just the program’s second year, students attended the Kentucky Educators Rising State Conference in Louisville on March 5 for the first time.
Students participated in breakout sessions exploring careers in education and heard from inspiring speakers including Dr. Roger Cleveland, KY Teacher of the Year Kara Dowdy, Rocky Adkins, and KY Commissioner of Education Dr. Robbie Fletcher.
