The Murray Head Start made two special presentations recently at the Murray Board of Education.

Reisner received $1500 from the Region IV Head Start Association, Atlanta, GA, as the 2025 Head Start Alumni winner, $500 from the Region IV Head Start Association as the 2025 National Alumni winner, and $500 as the Murray Head Start Alumni recipient in honor of the late Judy Whitten, former Director of Murray Head Start. Reisner attends Western Kentucky University where he studies finance.

Dr. David Meinschein, Murray Independent School District superintendent, greeted future Murray Elementary School Kindergarten students at the front door and visited classrooms during a two-day Jump Start Program this week. Students attend the Jump Start program to prepare them with expectations for their daily routine in August.

The Murray Independent School District is proud to announce that Heidi Mallory, has been appointed as the new Assistant Principal of Murray Middle School.
Mallory brings 11 years of experience in education, including six years as a Social Studies teacher and the past five years as a School Counselor, all focused on serving middle school students. Her dedication to the academic and personal success of every student, along with her strong relationships with staff and families, has made her a valuable member of the school community.
Mallory is known for her ability to foster academic, social, and emotional growth through collaborative partnerships with parents, teachers, and community stakeholders. Mallory is committed to creating inclusive, supportive learning environments that empower students to reach their full potential. Her expertise includes curriculum development, student advocacy, crisis intervention, and leading programs that support student well-being and academic achievement. She is also widely recognized for her strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills in diverse educational settings.
“I’m incredibly excited to begin my new role as Assistant Principal at Murray Middle School,” Mallory said. “It’s an honor to serve in a school community that values student growth, academic excellence, and strong relationships. I look forward to working alongside our dedicated staff, students, and families to support a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.”
