Murray Head Start/Preschool Centers will follow the K-5 guidance established by the governor’s order.

In the upcoming weeks, our respective school campuses will provide information to families and students who may be eligible for Targeted Services.

MISD will continue providing meals for children ages 0-18.  Information on times available and locations is available on the district’s website

Per guidance provided by Dr. Jason Glass, Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Education, the “Executive Order has the force and effect of law.”

Extracurricular activities, including athletics, have been impacted by the executive order. The first date for interscholastic high school competition in indoor winter sports has been moved to Monday, January 04, 2021. Official practice, will be suspended until Monday, December 14, 2020 at which time it is scheduled to resume with a three-week window for practice and preparation. All extracurricular programs will follow the indoor winter sports guidance until further notice.

According to the current approved 2020-2021 Academic Calendar for the Murray Independent School District, all students PS-12 will return on January 11, 2021.

On a regular basis, district personnel with consultation from local health officials will continue to monitor the COVID-19 status of the community and communicate decisions accordingly.
