MHS Speech Team Places Seventh Out of 38 High Schools

MHS Speech Team Places Seventh in Invitational Tournament

MURRAY HIGH SPEECH GETS THE GRAVY

-The Murray High Speech Team took seventh place out of 38 schools from thirteen states in the Kentucky High School Speech League Extra Gravy Invitational Tournament held online this past week. Riverside from South Carolina placed first, followed by Rowan County in second, Ridge (New Jersey) third, Knott County, Henry Clay, and Newtown South (MA) sixth. Murray High students placed in the following events: Broadcasting - Raegan Settle, (2nd place); Dramatic Interpretation - Ella Brown-Terry,( 6th); Impromptu Speaking - Katelynn Stanczyk, (3rd); and Informative Speaking - Katelynn Stanczyk, (5th). 

Three Murray High Speech Team students were recognized as next out from finals (seventh place) at the Kentucky High School Speech League Extra Gravy Invitational. Jesse Adams and Gabriel Crass were seventh out of 22 teams in Duo Interpretation. Caroline Koenig was next out from the final round in two events -- Extemporaneous Speaking (seventh of 48 entries) and Impromptu Speaking (seventh out of 50 entries). 

The Murray High School Speech Team is coached by Michael Robinson, Drew Thompson, Doris Cella, and Randy Patterson.
