Stakeholders of Murray Independent Schools,
Today - Thursday, November 09, 2023, the administration of Murray High School was made aware of threatening statements made by an individual. After obtaining the information, the School Resource Officer began an investigation into the matter. After review, the statements were attributed to a MHS student which led to implementation of disciplinary procedures by the school district. Safety of staff and students was not at risk.
Murray Independent Schools appreciate the assistance provided by the Murray Police Department in this situation and remind everyone that threatening statements should never be made and such statements have consequences.
All district schools and programs will continue normal operations on Friday, November 10, 2023.
