Murray State University Commonwealth Honors Academy announced seven Murray High School juniors selected for their three-week 2024 summer academic enrichment program. Murray High School 2024 (CHA) Recipients and wait list students are: (back left to right): Kerry Vu, Omar Khatib, Ava Claire Flota, and Isabelle Bourne (front from left): Amolika Chanda, (waitlist), Ayamei Willett (waitlist), and Madelyn Myers.

The Commonwealth Honors Academy held every June on Murray State University’s main campus provides the students the opportunity to live on campus, while taking college-level honors classes and participating in fun activities and seminars to help them grow personally and socially.

Aside from academics, CHA provides the opportunity to make friends with intelligent, enthusiastic, and energetic students from different areas and with different backgrounds. Students will earn six hours of college credits and a four-year full tuition scholarship to Murray State University, provided certain qualifications are maintained.

While there, students will live in a residence hall with a roommate, utilize campus dining locations, and learn how to navigate campus just like a regular Murray State student.

Additionally, students will be introduced to what it’s like to take honors courses at the college level.
